At Sevington we believe there is no such thing as an unimportant day! We make sure each day is unique and enjoyable.
We do this by offering children a wide variety of activities and experiences both as individuals and within a group. We effectively combine this with structured routines which give the children security and a feeling of "home from home".
Our fully qualified staff dedicate plenty of time to the curriculum as set by The Early Years Foundation Stage. This includes Math Games and Calculating; Reading; Writing; Movement and Space; Health and Bodily Awareness; Creating Music and Dance; Imaginative Play; Exploring Media and Materials; ICT; Exploration and Investigation; Communities; Shape; Space and Measures and Time (plus many more).
Each week we have a planned theme and the children are encouraged to contribute relevant items (sometimes from home or sometimes made at playgroup).
We also offer free play times where the children get to choose from a selection of activities, toys and games, which change every day. These include: Chalk Boards; Tracing Cards & Play Dough; Puzzle;, Bead Patterns; Paints and Art & Crafts; Home Corner; Shops; Dressing Up; Cars & Garages; Lego; Giant Lego; Woodwork & Tools; Little People; Dolls & Prams; Sand and Water Play and lots lots more............
The children also benefit from physical play both indoor and outdoor including: P.E. sessions with Balls, Hoops etc. Climbing Frames, Slides, Ride-on's, Sit in Cars and See-Saws.
Everyday we include a quiet time and we also fit in Talk Time, Story Time, Show & Tell and lots of Singing!
The routine of the day always includes Snack Time which is our chance to promote healthy food choices including fruit, milk and water. Those children attending an afternoon session are required to bring their own lunch boxes as this session includes 30 minutes for lunch where they are monitored and encouraged to eat with their peers.
By the end of the day the children are satisfied, happy and stimulated.
