Emergency Evacuation. We practise evacuation with the children regularly. This ensures we can evacuate quickly and safely and the children are not afraid (should there be the need for a real evacuation at any time)
Health and Safety. Including administration of medication and procedures for ill and infectious children. This will be discussed in detail with you during your child's induction, for example, children who have had vomiting, diarrhoea or sickness must not return to playgroup for 48 hours, this is to protect the other children from the risk of cross infection.
Accidents and injuries. Please tell us about any accidents or injuries your child sustains at home, we always inform you about any injuries that occur in our care. All accidents and injuries are documented and we ask that you sign to say that we have discussed it with you. Please be assured that we would contact you in the event of a serious injury. Please ensure your records remain updated with current contact details at all times.
Safeguarding. All staff are trained in child protection to ensure children are safeguarded in our care. We have a designated person on the staff (Mrs. Linda Hogg) responsible for Child Protection, please see the policy for full details.
Complaints. We always value your feedback and take any complaints or concerns seriously. Should you have a complaint please discuss it with the manager who will investigate and respond within 28 days. Our policy provides Ofsted's details who you may contact at any time. Their telephone number is also on our notice board.
Behaviour Management. We use positive strategies to manage behaviour. Our policy is adhered to by all staff and a designated staff member (Mrs. Clare Greehy) is responsible for behaviour management issues. Please see policy for details.
Uncollected and missing child. Clear procedures are in place in the event of a child being uncollected or going missing in our care. This ensures all staff are clear about procedures and can act quickly to safeguard the children in our care.
